For over 35 years the passion for outdoor adventure has driven our business. Scouting’s contribution goes back even farther. As an Eagle Scout and the father of two boys who have been positively touched by Scouting, Tom (our founder) established Scout Week to celebrate Scouts and their role in our communities.

Scout Benefit Week is May 1-10

WIN: Scouts enter the drawing by registering to win at any of the local Great Outdoor Provision Co. shops. Scouts can register anytime from April 13 thru May 10.
- Scholarships of $125 will be awarded to a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Winner from each local market.
- Winners will be drawn from the local shop pool of entries where Scouts have come in the shop to enter.
- Total (not exceeding) of $2000 in scholarships will be awarded ($125/BSA x 8, $125/GSA x 8 shop locations)
- Scholarship money will be paid directly to the local council in the name of the winner.
SAVE: Special savings on camping gear during the week of May 1 thru May 10. These savings will be in addition to our standard Scout discount of 10% off camping gear.
LEARN: Gear clinic tour with professional representatives from MSR, Therm-A-Rest & Osprey. Clinics will also be provided at Round Table meetings in local areas. Contact your local shop for information.

Discussions on planning ahead and being prepared, trekking and camping on durable surfaces, disposing of waste properly, and minimizing campfires to reduce your impact.
Pack a Pack
Osprey Packs is coming to play games while learning what to bring, where to keep the heaviest items, how to balance the weight, and many other helpful pointers and tips.
How to Choose a Campsite
Taking a few minutes to assess the terrain can increase your potential for comfort and lower your impact on the environment. Thermarest and MSR will be there with prizes and refreshments.
Stove and Water Filtration Demonstrations
MSR and Platypus will be sharing some tips on water treatment, choosing a cooksite, and firing up the stove for a hot meal. Food, games, and prizes provided for all who participate.
