Pool Sessions for the Winter of 2020
Where: Fulton YMCA, 385 West Hanes Mill Rd. Winston-Salem, NC 27105: Come around the left side of the building
When: 5:30p-8:30p on the below mentioned Saturdays. Can come at 5:00p to start cleaning boats
• January, 4th and 18th
• February, 1st, 15th and 29th
• March 14th. MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW!
Activity: Bring your own (clean) Boat for time to practice skills in warm water with friends. GOPC staff will offer assistance on skills such as rolling but this is not a structured class- it’s better. GOPC also has some Demo Boats that we will make available on a first come first serve basis at the pool. We may not bring every boat each time so you may want to check with Ward at the shop (336-727-0906) the week before to be sure the boat you want will be there. Due to the popularity of this program, we have secured the whole pool again for this year. That’s right, for all you guys who want a running start to do a bow stall you will have the room to do so.
Cost: STILL $10. All proceeds go to sustaining program. An additional option will be to pay in one lump sum $45 for the whole 6 session series. Along with the reduced overall fee you will fill out the paperwork once and that’s it; you are DONE for the rest of the pool series! This is for those folks who don’t want to have to fill out a waiver each time and/or are less than 18 years old but who don’t want to make parents come every time (just to fill out the waiver). For everyone the check in will be much easier. You can sign up for this package deal at the store up to the Wednesday before the second session.
If you have any questions call the Winston shop 336-727-0906
About this Event
A very comprehensive one day course for 8 students. We’ve packed a lot of information into an 8 hour day, including: casting, knots, equipment, fishing strategies and fly selection, for coldwater, warmwater and saltwater species. Beginners can expect to learn the skills that will allow them to catch fish on their own, and intermediate level fly fishers can advance their casting skills and fill in some holes in their technical knowledge. We provide all equipment & materials, as well as lunch and drinks. Just bring a willingness to have fun and learn, but register early, they fill up fast.

Interesting Stories of Greensboro Staff and Adventure
Greensboro has everything: paddling and fishing at Lake Brandt or the Haw River, hiking and trail running at the Piedmont Environmental Center or the Watershed Lakes trails, and bike trails with majestic views at Hanging Rock State Park and Uwharrie National Forest. Whatever your pleasure is, the Great Outdoor Provision Co. will make sure that you have everything you need to meet the trail (or river) head on. From the big purchases, like a kayak, to the smallest, like a carabiner, Great Outdoor Provision Co. has you covered.
We don’t just carry all of the products you’ll need for your outdoor adventures. Our manager, Rob Arends, and his staff offers something equally, if not more important: knowledge and education about the great outdoors. We spend our off days using the same equipment we sell, so we can tell you what to expect where you’re going, and what things you do or don’t need.
Our motto – explore global, shop local – epitomizes the way we do our business. We want to open the world to exploration, and it starts with our community. Stop by our store, and let us show you what Greensboro has to offer. You might be surprised at the wilderness right outside our back door.
