Loft Mountain with roughly 200 sites is the largest campground in the Shenandoah National Park; about 20 miles to the north is Lewis Mountain, which with just 31 sites and tents-only covenants, is the smallest. As such, it appeals to folks looking for more of a backwoods feel without the backpack. It’s along the Appalachian Trail, and just seven miles down the road from the Big Meadows area, which includes three waterfalls and some of the best hiking in the Shenandoah, including several options for day-hike loops.
A beach and festival chair that has everything. UPF 50+ adjustable sun shade, aluminum frame for corrosion resistance, and pack straps to get you to the beach with your hands free. The back pocket is even big enough for your towel and favorite book.
I’m not a gadget guy but this is a truly practical travel accessory. It compresses to a little 3 oz ball, so you can toss it in your luggage just in case. Great for unplanned day hikes, fishing trips, or a walk around town. Don’t be that guy with a bunch shopping bags with stuff falling out as he tries to cram them into the overhead.
