NCKFA Meeting | Cape Fear Chapter @ Wilmington Shop
Apr 5 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
NCKFA Meeting | Cape Fear Chapter @ Wilmington Shop | Wilmington | North Carolina | United States

The speaker for the April meeting of the Cape Fear Chapter of the North Carolina Kayak Fishing Association will be Capt. David Wicker of Simrad and Lowrance Marine Electronics.  You may remember that David was to be our speaker in December and had a family emergency.

David is a successful tournament fishermen and uses these electronics on an almost daily basis.  He is also one of the featured faculty for the Saltwater Sportsman National Seminar Series that had a January 2017 stop in Wilmington.  He will talk about Lowrance and Simrad fishfinders, GPS units, marine radar, combo units and Marine VHF radio and their capabilities and operation.  This will be your chance to meet with David in a small group and ask the marine electronics questions you have always wondered about.  If you’re in the marine electronics market, don’t buy until after attending this meeting.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, April 5, at the Great Outdoor Provision Company in Wilmington.  The store is located at 3501 Oleander Drive in the Hanover Center Shopping Center.  The phone number there is 910-343-1648.

Outstanding conservation efforts in Wilmington have led to some of the most remarkable trail ways and vistas in the Carolinas, and Great Outdoor Provision Co. wants to help you take advantage of them. With 7,000 acres, you’ll never see the same thing twice at Boiling Springs Nature Preserve. Experience the unique coastal wildlife at Sugarloaf Dune Trail, paddle out to Masonboro Island and camp for the night, or try your hand at fly fishing in the Brunswick River. Wilmington residents have the world at their feet, and we can’t wait to explore it with you!

Led by manager, George Bland, our friendly, experienced staff works long hours, so you can stop by at a time that’s convenient for you. We spend our free time using the very same products that we sell, so someone in the store is sure to have tested what you’re looking to buy. We’ll give you the inside scoop on the pros and cons of each product – including things you won’t find on the tag, like which carabiner is easiest to clip on a crux move or which water purifier works the quickest.

The outdoors is our passion, and we love to share it with whoever is interested. For people who are new at outdoor sports, we offer kayak roll sessions, fly tying lessons, kayak fishing clinics, and other informational and active outdoor events. Come into the store at 3501 Oleander Drive (US 76) and we are sure to find you a fabulous, healthy new hobby, or get you geared up for an old favorite!
