Hello, my name is Thomas Farlow. I am originally from Randleman, NC. I am married and a father of 2 wonderful boys I am very proud of. I started fishing when I was around the age of 8 or 9 catching catfish and bream. I took a trip to Wisconsin the summer before going into the 10th grade with a youth friend so he could go spend time with his uncle and grandma. His uncle had a neighbor that was a walleye fishing guide and he took us out for a day trip. The first fish I caught was a 31 1/2″ Muskie, then I caught several Northern Pike the largest being 28″ long and a whole stringer of Walleye. We would also fish the Black River for Smallmouth Bass and that is where I learned how to bass fish. I came back home that summer itching to go bass fishing at every pond I could find and every chance I could.

Now, I am working at Great Outdoor Provision Co. at the Greensboro, NC store as a Kayak Specialist. When I’m not there, I am a Freelance Videographer filming and editing for different companies or other YouTube channels and my own channel. So it’s a little tougher to get out on the water as much as I would like to, but I try to as much as I possibly can. You may ask do I tournament fish? The answer is yes but I am not the competitive angler as many other tournament fishermen are. When I do fish tournaments they are usually with the NCKFA tournaments and I do it more to learn, not so much to win.

I am a multi-species fisherman where I fish ponds, rivers, lakes and coastal fisheries here in my home state of NC. I also have a YouTube fishing channel called “Southern Outdoors Fishing” where I make “How To” style videos. I also make fishing product review videos, kayak fishing and modification videos, bait and tackle review videos, and inshore and nearshore kayak fishing videos. This has opened up many doors for me. I am sponsored by or on pro staff for a few different companies which include KastKing, Lucky Tackle Box, Plumhead Tackle and Zeebait Co. One of my older videos was just recently published in an online fishing magazine Watersports Magazine to help others learn the basic techniques of the Texas rig of how to rig it and where to use it.
