And it’s good as well for folks looking for miles. Out and back from the marina is 7.6 miles. Mix it up by returning partway on the Wild Turkey Trail (also open to mountain biking). Extending your trek by running the 3.6 miles on Nat Greene down to Old Battleground Avenue, then taking a right and another quick right onto the Palmetto Trail. That trail leads to the X.X-mile Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway, which will take you north past Lake Brandt or south toward town (and eventually into downtown). On the north side of Lake Brandt you can take a right on the Piedmont Trail, which, with a short road connection, will bring you back to the Marina trailhead.
That loop — Nat Greene/Palmetto/Atlantic & Yadkin/Piedmont/road connector — gives you nearly 10 miles of nice variety (natural surface and a little pavement mid-run for recovery).
Need more? There are other adjoining trails to connect with as well, creating lots of options for distance training.
