“Rock!”  “Stump!”   “Root!”

The trail etiquette couldn’t have been any better as hikers warned those behind of the upcoming obstacles.  This morning Trusty (the Mule) joined the students from the Governor Morehead School (GMS) for a hike.  Though Trusty has covered much of Umstead Trails this was his first time as a member of a visually impaired party.  But certainly not the last.

The GMS Outdoor Club, VISEON, (Visually Impaired Students Exploring Outdoors and Nature) is a fearless crew that set out on the Company Mill trail with great zeal.  They were loving the Vasque & Salomon boots, SmartWool socks and Iron Mtn Gear trekking poles that were provided by Great Outdoor Provision Co.  Their appreciation for the beauty and landscape was inspiring.
