May 6, 2017 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Howell Woods Environmental Learning Center
6601 Devils Racetrack Rd
Four Oaks, NC 27524

This event is SOLD OUT.

A very comprehensive one day course for 8 students. We’ve packed a lot of information into an 8 hour day, including: casting, knots, equipment, fishing strategies and fly selection, for coldwater, warmwater and saltwater species. Beginners can expect to learn the skills that will allow them to catch fish on their own, and intermediate level fly fishers can advance their casting skills and fill in some holes in their technical knowledge. We provide all equipment, including a textbook, as well as lunch and drinks. Just bring a willingness to have fun and learn, but register early, they fill up fast.

Howell Woods:

Howell Woods is a 2,800 acre natural are along the Neuse river managed by professional foresters and biologists for native wildlife and plant communities. It stands out for both its sheer size and management philosophy especially given its proximity to the triangle. Our class is held in an area of the property which has a pond stocked with native bass and pan fish as well as an indoor and outdoor classroom. That entire area is reserved for our class. We will be at the pond for both casting and fishing portions of the class but have access to indoor and outdoor shelters during the classroom portion. Learn more about Howell Woods here:
