I have been fishing for as long as I can remember. Some of my fondest memories are fishing with my dad in the farm ponds and at a local lake near our home. Growing up and living near Mount Airy, NC has offered me a wide variety of fishing opportunities. Great largemouth bass, mountain trout and world class smallmouth fishing are all within a short drive.
I started kayak fishing about 10 years ago. Back then I primarily used a kayak to chase river smallmouth, which is still my favorite thing to do. Since then I have expanded my use of a kayak to target many different species of fish. Although river smallmouth is still my passion chasing red fish on inshore grass flats is a close second.
Tournament fishing is also something that I enjoy. The highlight so far has been winning the 2014 and 2016 NCKFA Summer Smallmouth Slam. In the future I hope to expand on my tournament fishing.
