If our 50+ year support of public lands has taught us anything, the most prominent lesson is that we directly benefit from the stewardship choices of previous generations. We see conservation as a non-partisan issue and continue to advocate for the preservation of such lands which bring economic, recreational, environmental, and social benefits to local communities.
Earth Week is an opportunity to celebrate our home planet while inspiring action and raising awareness for global sustainability efforts. Here at Great Outdoor Provision Co., we’re in the business of equipping folks for adventure. As outdoor enthusiasts ourselves, we are proud to support the following Earth Week events in the Triangle, Triad, and Coastal regions of North Carolina.
Ways to Celebrate Earth Week 2024:
- Walk/Bike/Run for Umstead 2024 (Triangle, NC) This family-friendly annual event helps raise funds that support William B. Umstead State Park. Join us on Saturday, April 20th for a walk, bike ride, or run while enjoying live music, activities, food, and prizes!
- RiverRun International Film Festival (Triad, NC) This film festival celebrates its 26th season this year and will feature 196 screenings from April 18-27th in Winston-Salem and Greensboro. We are proud to sponsor “Out There: A National Parks Story” and hope to see you at a screening!
- Earth Day Festival (Wilmington, NC) Join us at Long Leaf Park on Saturday, April 20th to learn about environmental action opportunities while enjoying live music, dancing, and food trucks. If you’re feeling lucky, enter the raffle to win a Hurricane Kayak from our shop!
