14239 Douthat State Park Road
Millboro

This 4,493-acre oasis is a destination park. For starters, its 43 miles of trail are open to hiking and mountain biking; especially for the later it’s a prime getaway. The 50-acre lake includes a beach for swimming, and there are boat rentals. Interpretive programs are ongoing, there are playgrounds for the little ones, when you run out of camp food there’s a camp store on site, and when you’re tired of camp food altogether, there’s a restaurant. It’s a bit of a drive, but once you’re there, park the car until it’s time to leave.
