Goose Creek offers a civil way to explore a swamp. Eight miles of trail take you past estuaries and through fresh and brackish swamps that will remind you of your favorite 1950s monster movie thrillers. Paddling provides another perspective for observing the same, sometimes intimately (Goose and Flatty creeks), sometimes on big water (the Pamlico River, which is near becoming a sound at this point).
