What – A Paddlesports INDOC Session is short for “paddlesports indoctrination”, which is simply our way of brainwashing the beginner on the water with basic instruction, before bad habits can set in. An INDOC session is basic group instruction, provided free of charge to customers who purchased their boat from GOPC. Folks who bought their boats from us within the past 12 months can attend 1 free INDOC Session. Folks who did not buy their boat from us can still take an INDOC but for a nominal (but still very reasonable) fee of $50.

- Self and Assisted Recoveries
- Safe Entry and Exit Techniques
When – June 5, July 31, September 11, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Duration – Three Hour session
Where – Gar Creek Canoe Launch, Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, Mountain Island Lake, near Charlotte, NC - 6211 Sample Rd, Huntersville, NC MAP IT
What you need to provide:
- $50 if you did not purchase a boat from us in the past 12 months
- Boat, Paddle, PFD are required (contact Charlotte shop for rental info on these items)
- Optional items such as Whistle, Appropriate Footwear, Paddle Float, Bilge Pump, Spray Skirt, etc will enhance your learning experience
- Towel, Change of Clothes, Snacks, Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Hat, Rain Gear, Drinking Water, etc will enhance your comfort

Cost – As mentioned above, the INDOC is free to our customers who purchased a boat from us in the past 12 months. For everyone else, the cost is only $50.
Cancellation Policy - The class will be canceled in the event of lightning or similarly hazardous conditions.
