Raleigh Pool Sessions
Kayak pool sessions occur Friday nights at Optimist Pool from November through March. These sessions are for both seasoned paddlers working on aspects of their roll, and people who would like to try out the sport of kayaking. Roll instruction is not provided, but basic boat orientation for beginners is offered. Paddlers’ ages 12-15 years old are required to be accompanied by adults. Participants younger than 12 years old may attend with the appropriate equipment, parental supervision, and with pre-approval by the Adventure program managers.

Winston- Salem Pool Sessions
Ward (W-S Staff) will be conducting paddling sessions at the Gateway YWCA for paddlers of all skill levels. Please supply your own Boat, Skirt, Paddle & PFD
When: Sundays, 1-4pm: Jan 3 & 17, 31, Feb 14 & 28, Mar 14

Charlotte Area Kayak Roll Clinics
Update 1/15/10: Feb & Mar sessions are COMPLETELY FULL.
This clinic is primarily designed for the beginning kayaker who either does not have a kayak roll or who needs assistance improving their roll. For kayakers who already possess a roll, we can assist you with your off-side roll and introduce you to the fundamentals of bracing. No kayak experience is necessary; however participants should have a basic comfort level in a pool.
When: Tuesdays: Feb 9, 16, & 23, Mar 2, 16, & 30
7pm - 9pm
Where: Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center (MCAC)
Cost: $10 clinic fee (includes gear if you require any) and a $5 pool entrance fee paid to MCAC. Due to limited availability of demo equipment, kayakers needing demo gear should contact the shop as soon as possible to reserve their gear.
Sign-up is limited to 10 participants and is first come, first serve. Participants under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian signature to participate.
