Great events going on across the state:
Walk/Bike/Run for Umstead - Sat. April 19
Choose between a 4 mile Walk/Run on a Park trail, a 3-mile beginner mountain bike tour, or a 7-mile intermediate mountain bike tour. Enjoy live music along the trail and on the main stage. A community event for the appreciation, use, and preservation of William B. Umstead State Park. Funds raised will be used for controlling invasive plants, protecting native wildflowers, environmental education, and land acquisition.
Piedmont Earth Day Fair - Sat, April 19
Come learn how you can make a difference, enjoy good food and entertainment, and be part of the movement to protect our earth. Presented by the Piedmont Environmental Alliance4055 Robinhood Road - Winston-Salem, 10 am - 5 pm
Burt’s Bees 1st Annual Planet Earth Celebration - Sat, April 19
Burt’s Bees is presenting a “fun-filled, interactive experience that will bring together our community to celebrate our planet while learning practical ways individuals can help make our local and global environment healthy.”

At Great Outdoor Provision Co. we give back to outdoor cornerstones that have marked our lives. For example, we chose Local Land Trusts because they acquire land for protection thus preserving open space for adventure. Scout Troops provide the leadership and skills that enable young people to safely enjoy the wilderness (check out our Scouting Program). We work with local Rescue Missions to collect coats for the homeless during the Great Outdoor Coat Swap. Habitat For Humanity works to provide affordable housing for families in need. We recognize that you make these contributions possible by shopping our stores so we thank you.

Donation Requests
At Great Outdoor Provision Co. we work hard to deliver the best outdoor gear and service to our customers. You, our customer, make that job deeply satisfying as you bring home great stories of adventure and fun. Together we share a common concern for our local community and the wild open space that makes adventure possible. One way we contribute to the preservation of adventure is through contributions.
The manager of your local shop works hard to support local land trusts, local Scout Troops, our local Habitat for Humanity along with many other outreach efforts. This contribution plan includes a budget for community events that take place in our neighborhood and align with our mission.
If you feel that your organization’s event falls into that category please complete the submission form and return to your local shop. We will make every effort to fill those donations that meet our mission goals and budget.
