DESCRIPTION: The Hobie Mirage Adventure Island may well be the most versatile watercraft available in a paddling shop. Not only can you sail this boat like a dedicated small sail boat, you can also disconnect the amas (outriggers) to create a mono hull kayak that can be paddled with remarkable efficiency. Of course, because it is a Hobie you can pedal the kayak with unequaled efficiency using the patented Mirage Drive.
However, it is the Mirage Drive that really makes the Adventure Island stand out from the typical small sailboat. The Mirage Drive will let you power through a tack and get you home when you run out of wind.
We recommend a roller system such as the Yakima Showboat to aid loading if cartopping this craft. A small boat trailer will work well. To be legal, the Adventure Island will need to registered in most states, including NC.
