Manitou Sport by Necky

DESCRIPTION: In terms of Steadiness, the Manitou Sport is nearly as stable as a typical Rec Kayak (more so than the Manitou 13). In terms of Seaworthiness, the Manitou Sport can handle Class I rapids and is less seaworthy than the Manitou 13. We would not recommend this kayak for unprotected coastal conditions; however the Manitou Sport can handle choppier, windier conditions than a typical Rec Kayak (like a Hurricane Santee or Perception Swifty). In fact, we think the Manitou Sport is a better choice for many folks as a first kayak than the typical Rec kayak since you can edge this boat and learn to improve your skills over time.

In terms of Efficiency, the Manitou Sport is capable of covering 2 - 2.5 miles in an hour of paddling by the average paddler. In terms of Maneuverability, the Manitou Sport is more maneuverable than the Manitou 13 and most any Rec Kayak (remember, the Manitou Sport can be edged to enhance turning performance while the typical Rec Kayak cannot).

The Manitou Sport is equipped with a very comfortable, highly adjustable seat, a rear bulkhead and hatch, full deck rigging with paddle-float rescue rigging and is very competitively priced.
