Join us June 16 in Winston-Salem as Tonya Riggs, devoted Alpinist and Rock Climber, shares her story of leaving her comfort zone and confronting her deepest fears to step on the highest mountains on earth. Through video, photography and personal stories, she will tell you how her wildest dream of climbing 8,000m peaks became a reality. Climbing mountains is analogous to reaching the pinnacle of success both in our personal pursuits as well as our professional ones. Tonya is a firm believer that everyone has an Everest inside….what is yours?
Tonya Riggs is the 20th US woman to have climbed Mt. Everest and the fifth of just nine American women to have reached the top of Everest by the treacherous North Ridge. She did not begin climbing until her late 30’s, however since discovering her passion for climbing she has advanced quickly, becoming a talented technical rock, ice and mountain climber. Tonya has led major expeditions around the globe including locations such as Nepal, Africa and Peru. Tonya has been fortunate enough to combine her personal passion with her professional life as she is the Director of Business Development for Stonewear Designs, a manufacturer of womens rock climbing and yoga apparel.
